Terms of Service

Effective date: March 2026

By downloading or using Internet Court, you agree to these Terms. Read them. They're not that long. If you disagree with any part, don't use the app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Internet Court ("we," "us," "our") governing your use of the Internet Court iOS application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Internet Court. The app is rated 18+ due to mature relationship and conflict content. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to use this app. We may terminate accounts we determine belong to users under 18 without notice.

3. Account Registration

You may register using an email address and password, or Sign in with Apple. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current information when creating your account.
  • Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with anyone.
  • Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Not create accounts on behalf of others without their permission.
  • Not use a username that impersonates another person or is offensive.
  • Notify us immediately at support@theinternetcourt.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. User-Generated Content

Internet Court is built around user-submitted disputes and community votes. You may post cases, votes, comments, and other content ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you:

Grant us a licence: You grant Internet Court a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and modify your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service. You retain ownership of your content.

Confirm that:

  • You own or have rights to the content you submit.
  • Your content does not violate anyone else's rights.
  • Your content complies with these Terms and our Community Guidelines.

Prohibited content — you must not post:

  • The real full name, address, phone number, email, social media handle, employer, or other identifying details of any private individual (doxxing).
  • Content designed to harass, bully, intimidate, or target a specific person.
  • Hate speech targeting race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or other protected characteristics.
  • Sexually explicit content of any kind.
  • Threats of violence or content promoting self-harm or suicide.
  • Content that impersonates another person or entity.
  • Fabricated or AI-generated scenarios presented as real disputes.
  • Spam, advertising, or off-topic promotional content.
  • Content that violates any applicable law or regulation.

5. Moderation & Content Removal

All case submissions are reviewed by our AI moderation system before being published. We reserve the right — but not the obligation — to review, refuse, edit, or remove any User Content at any time, for any reason, without notice.

If your content is removed or your account is actioned, you may appeal by emailing support@theinternetcourt.app. We review appeals on a case-by-case basis but are not obligated to reverse moderation decisions.

6. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or permanently ban accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

  • No refunds on termination: Account suspension or permanent ban does not entitle you to a refund of any unused subscription fees.
  • No new accounts: Permanently banned users may not create new accounts. Ban circumvention will result in immediate termination of the new account.
  • You can also leave: Delete your account any time via Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion removes your personal data within 30 days (see our Privacy Policy).

7. Platform Security

You must not attempt to exploit, manipulate, or circumvent any aspect of the platform's systems. Prohibited actions include:

  • Manipulating vote counts, verdicts, or jury rankings through any unauthorised means.
  • Spoofing or bypassing Premium subscription status or entitlements.
  • Modifying server-controlled data (ranks, badges, points) via client-side manipulation.
  • Using automated scripts or bots to interact with the platform.
  • Probing or scanning our systems for vulnerabilities without our written permission.

Any exploitation attempt will result in immediate permanent account termination and may be referred to law enforcement.

8. Premium Subscription

Internet Court Premium is an optional auto-renewable subscription at $2.99/month (prices may vary by region).

What's included: Ad-free experience, Premium profile badge, live vote counts, and any other features designated as Premium. We may modify Premium benefits with reasonable notice.

Billing:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically each month. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before the end of each billing period.
  • Free trials (where offered) automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Cancellation: Cancel any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Internet Court. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep Premium access until then. We do not issue refunds for unused time in a billing period.

Refunds: All purchases are final except as required by applicable law. For App Store refund requests, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

9. Intellectual Property

The Internet Court name, logo, and all original content, features, and functionality (excluding User Content) are our property and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

10. Copyright & DMCA

Internet Court respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to:

Email: support@theinternetcourt.app
Subject line: "DMCA Takedown Notice"

Your notice must include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work — describe the original work you claim has been infringed, or provide a link to it.
  2. Identification of the infringing content — describe the specific content on Internet Court that you believe infringes your copyright, with enough detail for us to locate it.
  3. Your contact information — your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Good-faith statement — a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy statement — a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  6. Signature — your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid and complete DMCA notice, we will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content promptly. We will notify the user who posted the content that it has been removed.

Repeat infringers: We will terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe third-party copyrights.

Counter-notification: If your content was removed and you believe it was done so in error or due to misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to the same email address above. Your counter-notification must include: (1) identification of the removed content and its location before removal, (2) a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification, (3) your name, address, phone number, and email, (4) a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your location, and (5) your physical or electronic signature. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may restore the content within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant seeks a court order.

11. Not Legal Advice

Internet Court is an entertainment platform only. The cases, verdicts, votes, and comments on this platform do not constitute legal advice, legal representation, or professional counsel of any kind. No attorney-client relationship is created by using Internet Court.

For any real legal matter, consult a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction. By using Internet Court, you acknowledge that all content is user-generated opinion and for entertainment purposes only.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTERNET COURT IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR USER-GENERATED CONTENT POSTED ON THE PLATFORM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $10 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Internet Court and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute not resolved by good-faith negotiation shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
